Information for Families

Amazing FDC provides flexible family day care by trained, accredited and insured family day Educators for children 0-5 and primary school aged children. The care provided for children can be full time, part time, casual, respite and emergency, before or after school among others. We provided tailored services for parents from all walks of life whether they are working parents, undertaking education, need respite or have a child with a disability. We strive to go far beyond what other forms of child care providers can provide in meeting the needs of both children and their families. Amazing FDC works with families and Educators to ensure the best possible care placements are made for each child/family and activity promotes the family day care program in the community.

Family Day Care is well established mode of child care which is governed by a set of National Quality Standards (NQF) that must be adhered to by all Educators and family day care services/schemes. The Family Day Care sector is also governed by both state and federal government departments together with participation in an ongoing Continual Improvement Process and Accreditation Assessment. The Family Day Care Scheme will be abiding by The National Quality Framework. Parents and Educators can be confident that Amazing FDC is committed to best practice home based child care. All educators must read and comply with the National Standards.

National Quality Standard

The National Quality Standard sets a new national benchmark for the quality of education and care services. The National Quality Standard is divided into seven Quality Areas:

Educational program and practice

Children’s health and safety

Physical environment

Staffing arrangements

Relationships with children

Collaborative partnerships with families and communities

Leadership and service management

The National Quality Standard aims to promote:

The safety, health and wellbeing of children

A focus on achieving outcomes for children through high-quality educational programs

Families’ understanding of what distinguishes a quality service

Parents Responsibilities

Before care commences parents/guardians must ensure the following requirements are met;

Inform Amazing FDC staff and the Carer of their child’s condition at the time of Enrolment or at diagnosis

Provide a list of triggers and signs and symptoms to triggers of anaphylaxis

Arrange and provide a signed Anaphylaxis Plan from a medical practitioner to Amazing FDC staff and the Carer

Provide all relevant medication and an EpiPen clearly labelled with the child’s name and a sharps container

Replace the EpiPen when it is used or when it reaches its expiry date

The child’s Anaphylaxis plan must include:

Signs and symptoms that would prompt the use of any medication

What medication to give and dose and where to administer an EpiPen

Be signed by the child’s doctor

Be updated every six (6) months or when changes occur

Amazing FDC also acknowledges that “Learning outcomes are most likely to be achieved when early childhood educators work in partnership with families…Partnerships are based on the foundations of understanding each other’s expectations and attitudes, and building on the strength of each other’s knowledge” ( Early Years Learning Framework). In most cases the care provided is eligible for the child care benefit (CCB) and child care tax rebate. The decision on eligibility for CCB rest with the Family Assistance Office and there are a number of requirements and/or supporting evidence that must be provided for the Family Assistance Office to establish eligibility for CCB fee reductions. Parents should consult The Family Assistance Office for details of their specific entitlements to CCB and child car tax rebate
